Stamp-a-stack with Owl occasions and holiday ornaments

Hello everyone, its almost the weekend again, I can't believe how quickly these days are passing.

As promised I am sharing a couple of the cards we made in last weekend's stamp-a-stack class.  The  classes have proved very popular this year and  everyone who attended all three sessions  have made a total of 30 christmas cards!

The first card uses Owl Occasions stamp set from the Autumn/Winter Catalogue. This is a very versatile stamp set and can be used for all occasions not just for Christmas.

Colours used pool party, so saffron, soft suede, chocolate chip and lucky limeade.

We first embossed the front of the pool party card with polka dots embossing folder. We then  cut out a shape from the apothecary accents framelits and stamped the images. We had great fun lining up the owl  and stocking with the stamp-a-majig!!

For the second card we embossed some whisper white card with the holiday frame embossing folder and used the ornament keepsake stamp set and holiday ornaments framelit dies in cherry cobbler for the bauble.

We stamped and cut out three images and glued them together to make it 3D. We tied a bow in whisper white organza ribbon and added a few rhinestones.

Snow Swirled

Hello everyone I hope you are all well.  I am now back into the full swing of things after the holiday, all washing and ironing done and holiday things put away. I can now concentrate on organising things for the festive season.  I can't believe how quickly the time is passing, there is only 27 days to Christmas

I am sharing the cards we made in my classes last week

Snow swirled is the stamp set used for both cards, this is my favourite christmas stamp set I have purchased this year.

The first card uses rich razzleberry and very vanilla colours with a strip of the beautiful new champagne  glimmer card down the edge for a bit of added sparkle

The second card is a simple but very effective card and one which could be reproduced very quickly to make in a batch.  Colours used are cherry cobbler and very vanilla.  The strip at the top is from the Be of Good Cheer Designer series paper edged with scallop trim border and some very vanilla seam binding tied around

I am repeating this class at Running with Scissors in Grimsby this Thursday 1pm-3pm. If you like the look of the above cards and would like to make them yourself please let me know and I will reserve you a place

Australia and New Zealand Cruise

Hi there, I have finally returned from my holiday around Southern Australia, Tasmania and New Zealand on an 18 day cruise on the Radiance of the Seas with Royal Caribbean to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary

It was an experience we will never forget for a number of reasons. We met some lovely people, enjoyed fabulous food and saw some beautiful scenery and places. However, we and the ship weren't prepared for the cold, wet and windy weather we received with limited activities to suit all ages. In all the 24 days of being away, we only saw the sun on 3 days!!!

One of the highlights of the trip was visiting a wildlife park in Tasmania where you could get close to the koala bears and kangaroos.

Our next stop was New Zealand, visiting the fjords in Milford Sound. These are the fantastic views we woke up to seeing outside our balcony at 7am

The ship was originally scheduled to stop at Christchurch, but because of the recent earthquake, the whole area is still devastated so we docked at a beautiful town called Akaroa 1 1/2 hours away. From here we took a small boat trip around the coast to see wild dolphins and penguins swimming in the sea and  fur seals

In the afternoon we visited a penguin sanctuary where we saw adult  penguins and their babies nesting

The last morning of our cruise,  5.30 am in the morning sailing past Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge. What a spectacular view!
