congratulations spiral flower card and matching envelope box

As promised previously I am sharing the congratulations card and matching envelope box we made in the class at Running with Scissors on Saturday morning

This is a new class I have started teaching at the shop in Grimsby which will run on every 3rd Saturday of the month

I had 14 lovely ladies who attended the class this week and they all had a great morning using Stampin' Up! products. Thank you Tracey and mum for all your help, I couldn't have done it without you!

I showed them how easy it was to use the New Spiral flower (129379) £15.95 die to create the flower embellishments

and the envelope punch board to make the box for the card to sit in.

Products Used:

Stamps: Papillon Potpourri, Everything Eleanor, Itty Bitty Banners, Love & Laughter, Off the Grid
Ink:  Smoky Slate
Punches: Bitty butterfly, bird builder, large scallop circle 6cm, scalloped topper tag, itty bitty shapes, scallop trim border
Tools: Spiral Flower die, simply scored scoring tool, envelope punch board

I am repeating this class at my home this coming Sunday and Monday 10am - 12pm. Cost is only £7 and includes all materials, tuition and light refreshments. There are a couple of places remaining on each day if anyone would like to attend

The next class at Running with Scissors will be held on Saturday 17th May 10am - 12pm when we will be making a scalloped topper tag concertina card. There are still a few spaces left on this class if you would like to join us and  have some fun crafting on a Saturday morning.

All products are available to order either through my online shop or contact me  on and I can add your order to my next one.

Easter weekend cards and concerts

Happy Easter to you, I hope you all had a lovely weekend and didn't consume too much chocolate!

I have had a great few days. On Friday I was in my craft room making some cards and preparing for my first class on Saturday morning at Running with Scissors, which was enjoyed by everyone who attended. Thanks Tracey for all the hospitality!

On Easter Sunday we visited family and headed off to Sheffield Arena in the afternoon.  My husband had bought me some tickets to see Gary Barlow for Christmas, unfortunately we think it was from a fake website as the tickets didn't arrive.  I was so disappointed that we decided to travel to the arena to see if we could purchase any spare ones at the booking office ourselves.

Although the concert was a sellout, we were asked if we could wait for any returns and after 30 minutes I was delighted when the lady behind the counter handed us two tickets, 6 rows from the front!  Apart from having to buy again, I was so pleased that we had waited and that my original tickets hadn't arrived.

Gary Barlow was fantastic.  He was on the stage singing for almost 2 hours, old songs, new songs and engaged with the whole audience.

Getting back to crafting, I have a few cards to share with you from one of the classes before I went on holiday. We made a couple of cards with an easter theme.   The cards could also be used as a thank you, get well or sympathy card.

A few strips of washi tape brighten up a plain background. I love the daffodils on the scalloped topper tag which were made from the petite petals punch and one of the itty bitty punches for the centre.

Petite petals stamps and punches were used again with the trefoil cross and framed tulips embossing folder. So saffron and baked brown sugar colour combination

Another version in Elegant Eggplant and pear pizzazz

Some more easter cards I made for family members

Thanks for looking, I will be back tomorrow sharing the congratulation card and matching envelope box we made in the class on Saturday

Back to reality after exploring France & Switzerland

Hi everyone, I can't believe another week has past since I last posted on my blog.  A lot has happened during this week. Firstly I celebrated my birthday last Saturday whilst we were still away. I had a lovely day. We travelled by car from France to the heart of Switzerland to Lake Lucerne during the day. To break up the journey we stopped off at many quaint and scenic areas along the way, starting with Eguisheim in France.

The hotel we stayed in was a great location surrounded by breathtaking scenery of mountains and lakes, near a place called Vitznau.  The room was better than we expected (I think we may have been upgraded as it was my birthday), it was like an apartment and had its own large balcony/verandah with tables, chairs and sunbeds. The view over Lake Lucerne was stunning.

We stayed in Switzerland for three nights and during that time we went on scenic drives, travelled on cable cars and took a trip on a cogwheel railway to the top of Mount Rigi, one of the highest mountains in the area. The weather was warm and sunny at the bottom (21 degrees), but once we had reached the top after about 35 minutes, the temperature plummeted down to about zero degrees, however the sun was still shining but was rather windy and we were surrounded by snow and occasionally had our heads in the clouds!

The drive back to Basel Airport on Tuesday was equally as stunning. We had another few stops on the way including  Interlaken and Spiez.  It is an absolutely beautiful country and we will certainly be going back to explore it further.

Anyway it is now back to reality, clothes washed, ironing done, Paul back to work and I'm back in my craft room preparing for more classes.

Happy Easter x

Dad's open sea concertina card

Hi there, I am still in Thann, France until tomorrow when we travel into Switzerland. I had a lovely 2 hour walk  yesterday in the glorious sunshine down by the river alongside all the grapevines on the hillside that are starting to bud with springtime.

It is my dad's birthday today and this is the card I have made for him

I have used the 'Open Sea' stamp set in Baked Brown Sugar, Basic Black  and whisper white colour combination

Other products used are venetian romance designer series paper, perfect pennants framelits and stamps, large circle punch,  bring on the cake, world map and banner blast stamp sets

Whilst I was away it was Mothering Sunday, the time of  year, when we give an extra special thought to people that have inspired us in our life from a really young age, Mums, Grandma's, Aunties etc.

This is the card I made for my mum. I gained the inspiration for this fabulous card from HERE

A Scalloped Top Tag Concertina Card

When folded up, looks like this, tied up with summer Starfruit ribbon

I used the Sale-a-bration FREE papers, Sweet Sorbet for the main card and pistachio pudding and whisper white for the layering.

The letters were stamped with 'Letter It' stamp set and punched with the Artisan label

Lots of flowers were stamped and punched using the Petite Petals and Banner blast in various colours of crisp cantaloupe, summer starfruit, pistachio pudding.

and a matching box, made with the envelope punchboard

I really enjoyed making this card and my mum loved receiving it too.  I  am thinking of making a similar one with a birthday theme in one of my classes in May. What do you think?  Please let me know if you too would like to make one?

I'm back, and a first for everything!

Hi, I'm back again blogging. I have had a well deserved break and taken a trip to Gambia for a week with my husband. It was a country we hadn't thought of visiting before but when the offer came up on the internet we decided to give it a go.  Although it is a very poor country, the people are all happy and friendly, and there are so many interesting and beautiful places to explore.  We will certainly be visiting it again in the future. I will post a couple of photos soon.

We arrived home in the early hours of Monday morning and as soon as I had got all the washing and ironing done I had to pack again for a trip to France yesterday!  My husband is working at the Cristal site in Thann, a town on the border of France and Switzerland every other week and as it is my birthday on Saturday I decided to go along and accompany him. We are staying in Thann until Saturday and then hiring a car and travelling into Switzerland for a few days to end the holiday.  This is another first as we have never ventured to this part of the globe either, so am looking forward to seeing the fantastic mountains and scenery.

While my husband is at work, to pass some of the time during the day, I have brought along some of my crafting stash in my suitcase so I don't get crafting withdrawal symptoms!

Talking of crafting, I have lots to share with you as I didn't get chance to post it before. I ran a class a couple of weeks ago making the following 2 cards

Both cards utilise Stamp sets from the new catalogue, Happy Watercolor and Petite Petals and the new scalloped top tag punch.

For the first card we used baked brown sugar, black and pool party colour combination. The background was stamped with one of the stamps from 'gorgeous grunge' set

The second  is an easel card made with the circle framelits and strawberry slush, coastal cabana and crisp cantaloupe colours
I also showcased these cards during recent events at the Stallingborough Community Day and Lucarly's craft fair. The circle easel card in particular, drew a lot of attention, due to its simplistic design, but unique shape.

Don't forget you can order any of the products from my Online Shop at any time of the day or night!

The sun is shining here in Thann so I am going to go for a little walk around. I will be back tomorrow.
