scalloped topper tag concertina card

Hi from Copenhagen. After a tiring day exploring this great city by rail, bus and boat, I just couldn't relax  and go on my cruise without publishing my blog from 2 weeks ago. The card below was made in 4 separate classes over a 5 day period. The first was at Running with Scissors and as usual, we had a great morning of fun, quality discussion (well from some anyway!), light humour and not to forget the crafting. Tracey was an excellent host and I can't thank her enough x. The next 2 classes were done from home and the 4th at a local regular private class. In some cases, not everyone managed to complete it all in the 2hrs, but the design facilitated easy completion at home.

The card was created by using just one 12 x 12 sheet of cherry cobbler card which was cut into three pieces, 4" x 12". Each piece was scored from the left side at 2.5" intervals, leaving a narrower fold to the right. The third piece was trimmed at 10". On the other two pieces on the narrower folded edge, punch the edges with the scalloped topper tag punch.. Three pieces were concertinered and stuck together to form one piece.

'BIRTHDAY' was stamped used the retired 'Letter it' set in cherry cobbler separately and punched out using the artisan label punch. Each of the white panel edges and the white punched out artisan labels were all sponged with pink pirouette.

The white panels were matted onto the pink ones and placed along the 10 sides.

The petite petals were stamped in Cherry Cobbler, pink pirouette, summer startfruit and gumball green and punched out and arranged across the card

The past panel is left blank for you to write a message

View of the card when closed and tied with summer starfruit stitched satin ribbon.

The sentiment is from 'Bring on the Cake' and punched out with the decorative label punch. It was backed with another two decorative labels punched out in pink pirouette. Cut one lengthways and cut one cut widthways and glue to the back of the stamped white one to create a pink border.

Well must get a good  nights sleep ready for the cruise tomorrow, which is setting sail around iceland and norwegian fjords over the next two weeks

Peaceful petals circle thinlits card

Good afternoon, I am sharing the cards from last week’s class. Everyone who knows me, knows how much I love the colour 'pool party', and a majority of my cards have some involvement with that colour.  Not to disappoint I have used pool party again and teamed it with crisp cantaloupe and baked brown sugar to make a flip card using the circle card thinlits die.

The circle card framelits come with extra die pieces that have versatile designs, so you can use them on other projects, not just flip cards. It comes with 10 separate pieces, for even further versatility. What great value and flexibility at  £29.95  (133480)- especially to create an interactive card!

The circle in the cards can accommodate a variety of stamp images, decoupage, 3D effects, so you can create lots of different kinds of cards using all your existing stamps and punches. I have used Peaceful Petals stamped with black Stazon and used the blender pens to colour in the images

The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Banners set.

I chose a simpler design for the second card using coastal cabana, pistachio pudding and crisp cantaloupe colours, Flower shop and petite petals stamps and punches

The dotted paper across the centre is from the in-colour designer series paper stack.

One of the stamps from the 'wetlands' set was inked in pistachio pudding for the background and the sentiment is from 'Bring on the cake'

Just a reminder there are still spaces available on my classes this weekend.  Saturday morning at Running with Scissors and at my home on Sunday and Monday morning if anyone would like to come and have a fun few hours of crafting. We are making a concertina card using the scalloped topper tag punch.

Hardwood meets petite petals

Good evening,  I hope you all enjoyed the long bank holiday weekend and managed to have some time with friends/family or some time for yourself to Craft…  Unfortunately my husband had to travel back to work in Saudi Arabia on Saturday for two weeks so I didn’t feel guilty spending most of it crafting. I gather the temperature in Saudi Arabia is 40 degrees so just a little warmer than here. Paul’s offered to take me, but the dress code in that heat, doesn’t appeal to me!!

I have a couple of craft fairs coming up so the time has been put to good use, creating and making lots of items ready for sale

I have just realised I hadn’t shared a  couple of cards we made in the class a few weeks ago which I had forgotten to upload onto my blog.

This was a lovely card, which used the hardwood stamp in Crumb cake for the background with a colour combination of wisteria wonder, pink pirouette and raspberry ripple. The oval framelits were cut out with the big shot and decorated with flowers and leaves stamped with petite petals. The card was completed with a bow tied with the gorgeous blushing bride chevron ribbon. A favourite by the ladies

For the second card I wanted a card that would suit a teenager, party invitation as well as a female adult and as we all can't resist a beautiful cup cake I selected the create a cupcake stamp set which I haven't used for quite a while. I had forgotten how much I love this stamp set and I am sure I will be using it again very shortly. The colours I chose were blushing bride, crumb cake, baked brown sugar and so saffron.

I inked and punched three banners from the Sale-a-bration banner blast set to the blushing bride stitched grosgrain ribbon and added some sparkle to the lovely cupcake with some dazzling diamond glitter.

Just a little reminder about a class I am doing at 'Running with Scissors' shop in Grimsby on Saturday 17th May from 10am - 12pm. I still have a few spaces left if you would like to come and make a scalloped tag concertina card.  £7 per class and includes all materials, tuition and a cup of tea!

Card folded up

The last class was a sell-out and a great success. Why not come and join us or just pop-in to say hi. Please contact me by email on for more details or to reserve a place

NEW Stampin’ Up! Photopolymer Stamps

 Hi everyone!

I have some more great news to share with you, Stampin ' Up! have introduced photopolymer stamps to Europe

Stampin' Up! have searched long and hard for just the right material to be able to introduce completely clear stamping.
We're excited to announce that with the release of the upcoming 2014/2015 annual catalogue, we will have wood mount, clear mount and Photopolymer stamps.
The top-quality photopolymer stamps stick extremely well onto the acrylic blocks, are durable, and the transparent nature of these sets makes it easier to line up your images without the need of a guide. This is a feature that is particularly helpful with alphabets, borders, and backgrounds! There are lots of benefits to photopolymer stamps: they are great value as they are cheaper to produce and you get more stamps per set. They’re age tested. They won’t yellow or cloud up over time.

You can see a video below all about them.

To celebrate the introduction of the photopolymer range, Stampin' Up! are offering a limited offer. For every order of £60 (before post and packing or more between 1-31 May, you can choose one from a selection of four photopolymer stampsets FREE! This offer is only available whilst stocks last though, so if you'd like one, you need to get your Stampin' Up! order placed as soon as possible!
