Sky is the limit and Rose garden

Before the Sky is the limit stamp set retired as one of the Sale-a-Bration Freebies, we used it in class to make another male orientated card. You can't get enough of these opportunities to create a male card!

We teamed the aeroplane with the new World Traveler embossing folder, that I had in my stash for a while but never got round to using it and sponged over the embossed areas with Crumb Cake and Soft Sky ink

Like in previous Sky is the limit cards, we added a circle of vellum for the propeller attached by a mini silver brad

Rose Garden thinlits was the basis for the second card. The outline of the rose was created by cutting the die from a piece of white card stock and the middle pieces were discarded. Pool Party, So Saffron and Old Olive card stock were used to fill in the flowers and leaves.

I have used the clear wink of Stella on the flowers but you can't really capture the shimmer in the photo. I love these pens which add a subtle touch of shimmer over any colour.

I created a similar card using one of the pink papers from the Perfectly Artistic Sale-a-Bration Designer Series Paper

Stampin up have released 2 new stamps and 1 new product that can be earned for FREE  - just like the other sale-a-bration products. For every £45 spent you can choose any free sale-a-bration item, no limits. Sale-a-bration offers are on until 31st March.

Bloomin' Heart Valentine Card

A quick post from me today to show you the Valentine's Card I made for my husband. Unfortunately we couldn't spend the day together this year as he had to go back to work in Saudi Arabia for 3 weeks. However, thank goodness for Skype and Facetime!  We also have lovely memories of our weeks cruise holiday last week in which we enjoyed romantic meals which were cooked for us every night!

The bloomin heart thinlits was used to cut the beautiful heart centrepiece from some luxurious red foil sheets on the big shot and layered onto some whisper white card to show the intricate details of the design

I used the softly falling embossing folder to add some texture to the card and a simple sentiment which says it all!

botanicals for you and flowering fields

The last card class we did in January featured 2 cards using the Botanicals for you and Flowering Fields stamps collection which are two of the Freebie sale-a-bration gifts for every £45 spent.

Other than the usual birthday and anniversary cards, I am always being asked for more general thank you or Just for you theme cards that can be used for any occasion. The 2 designs below are versions of that theme and can be finished off with any sentiment......

50th birthday celebrations

It was a double emotions day in January when Paul celebrated his 50th Birthday :-) . He was adamant he didn't want a party, but we managed to convince him to have a family gathering, which I think he really enjoyed. The only problem is, Paul turning 50, means I am also almost 50! :-(.

Anyway enough of that depressing, below is the card I made for his special day. Even Paul was impressed, which doesn't come easily these days.....

I used the new large number framelits along with the balloon and medium punches in gold, black and dazzling diamonds glimmer paper to create the embellishments for the pop up box card. Each one was stuck to strips of acetate to make them look as if they are suspended in the air

Our daughter Leanne made the birthday cake and I created the topper to match the card!  I am finding these new framelits and punches very useful

Botanical blooms

Apologies for the lateness in posting this blog, but time was racing away with so much happening in late January and now being on holiday for a week. I thought this week of relaxing would give me a slot to post whilst supping a glass of wine. I was right, so here are the cards we made a couple of weeks ago.

The first is a pop out swing card which means it will stay stood up easily, and when folded still fits in a c6 envelope.

The card was made with the new botanical framelits and stamp bundle and sale-a-Bration  designer series papers. Although it looks a complicated fold to create, it is quite simple and all my ladies in the classes were very pleased with their completed creations.

The second card again uses the botanical blooms bundle. This card is very unusual as it is only a single layer card, but is made very effective by the beautiful  leaf framelits die from the bundle on the front.

The pictures show 2 versions of the same card using different coloured papers from the pack

Photos showing the inside of the card

Now I have completed this post I can get back to the wine xx
