I recently run a Saturday class creating a mini star book using the Birthday Blooms stamp set in blushing bride and Mint Macaron colour combination and the matching birthday Bouquet designer series paper

There were two different samples available on display. One of the books was decorated with  quotes and photos and the second one was filled with just sentiments and quotes.  The ladies could choose which one they wanted to create.

The mini star book folded and closed.

We even had time to make a matching box to keep the book in!

A photo of the tables all set up ready for the workshop

I decorated each of the bags which contained the class kit using one of the stamps from the Birthday blooms set and some new silver glimmer tape

Bloomin' Love Emerald wedding anniversary

My Mum & Dad celebrated their 55th Wedding Anniversary (Emerald) at the beginning of April

This is the card I made for them.

As you can see I have used the Bloomin' Heart framelits and stamp set as the main centre feature of the card and as it is emerald I used Cucumber Crush coloured card along with the whisper white, some white stitched satin ribbon and a few pearl embellishments. I embossed the background with a swirl embossing folder from my stash. The  sentiments were generated on the computer

55 years is such a wonderful achievement to be married these days and I want to congratulate them both. We all look forward to their Diamond anniversary in 5 years time!

The Retirement list has been available for two days and although some items have already sold out there is still plenty left. You can find the PDF HERE or you can visit my Online Store HERE if you prefer to see photos of the products.

Bloomin' Love and Number of Years

I showed the ladies a couple of new techniques when we made the following two cards.

For the first card, a strip of masking tape was placed over the middle of the top layer of white card.  We used the Bloomin' Love stamp set and randomly stamped over the card in black memento ink. with the masking tape still in place, and using either a blender pen or aqua pen, coloured in the flowers with daffodil delight. The masking tape was then removed to leave the plain strip in the centre which gives the impression the flowers are behind the white strip!

Two lines of holes were pierced across the plain strip and a white stitched satin bow placed in the middle

The card was finished off with a sentiment, a couple of butterflies and a little brush of  wink of stella clear glitter pen on the flowers.
We used watercoloured card for the second technique using the Number of Years stamp set

The flourish was stamped with versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder onto the watercoloured card. The card was then spritzed with water so it was a little damp and then colour washed over the top with an aqua pen and strawberry slush coloured ink.

This piece of card was then dried a little with the heat embossing tool and the rest of the flowers and leaves were stamped over the top.

There were two versions of the card available to choose from, one with numbers and one with A flower from petal petals stamp set in the centre

Well I've finally made it to the half century and what a whirlwind week, full of surprises!

It all started with Paul planning a few days away to Spain which I really appreciated, but only 4 days! I now understand why, since my daughters then had a surprise party waiting for us, when we arrived home on Saturday. How they kept it a surprise (and Paul was also in on it and never keeps secrets) working around me, I just dont know. Must have been too indulged in my craft!!!! The party was for Paul too, as his 50th birthday was earlier in the year. My daughters even used my craft address email list to create some of the invitations...

Louise and Leanne organised everything, there was an abundance of lovely food, photographs, banners and balloons that decorated the hall and the tables had lovely posies of fresh flowers on them.
The beautiful birthday cake and cupcakes were made by Leanne and assisted by Louise.

There was even a pick n mix sweetie table for everyone to fill a bag and take home.

The entertainment for the evening was provided by Rich T a local singer and even Louise took to the microphone and sung 4 songs during the night
Paul and I with our two daughters Louise and Leanne

My official birthday was Tuesday, I spent the day relaxing opening my presents and cards with Paul and Mum and Dad and then we went to Figs restaurant in Cleethorpes for a meal in the evening.
I received some amazing cards from all my crafters and some non-crafters, bottles of champagne, flowers and jewellery. I even received a beautiful 'paw-painted' plate from Tibby and Millie (ours and our daughters cats) Apparently a couple of weeks ago they took the cats in the car to Cleethorpes to create the plates and were missing for almost 2 hours and I never realised Tibby had gone with them!!

I am a very lucky girl and would like to thank everyone who was involved in organizing the party and those that came to help me celebrate and make it a birthday to remember.
