Retiform technique cards

We have been focusing on men's cards for the past two weeks in our card classes and I have been teaching a new technique called retiform card technique. There are lots of  cards on Pinterest using this technique but I was inspired by the cards created  HERE

Inks used are Dapper Denim and Marina Mist along with a combination of stamp sets - High Tide, Seaside Shore, Lift me Up and Wetlands

These type of cards are very quick and easy to create and make excellent masculine cards

After creating the first cards with just two colours we stepped it up on the next card by using a combination of three colours in the sections - daffodil delight, pool party and smoky slate.

Two fancy fold cards

I am catching up again and we recently made the following fancy fold cards.

The first is a block card
It looks complicated but is created from two sheets of card measuring  15cm x 25cm and scored at 5 cm intervals and with a couple of cut outs, fit together to form the steps. There are lots of tutorials on the internet with more detailed instructions

This fantastic 3D effect card folds flat into a standard 5" x7" envelope.

Both sides of the card were decorated so can be seen at all angles. Each of the squares were sponged with sweet sugarplum ink

The next card caused a few 'wows' when showed in the class which I must thank Amanda at the craft spa to share on her blog a few months ago. You can see her creation and tutorial HERE

Handbag card for all occasions using fresh florals DSP and daisy punch

We made these fabulous handbag cards in the classes a while ago but I was waiting to show them until I had given them out to the recipients for their respective birthdays

I gained the inspiration for these wonderful cards from HERE

There was a choice of using either Berry Burst or Fresh Fig colour combination using the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper

The base was made from one sheet of Whisper white thick A4 card measuring 4" x 11 5/8" and scored at 4", 5", 6" and 10"

Various pieces of designer series paper and plain coloured cardstock were then matte and layered onto the white card base to form the front and back.

On the inside,  Two hearts were die cut to form the frames and glued down on three sides so the photos can slide out

Completed handbag card with a daisy punch flower embellishment.

Beautiful You meets delightful daisy

A couple more cards using the Fabulous Beautiful You stamp set.

For the first card we teamed it up with the Delightful Daisy suite.

The dancing lady was stamped in Black Archival ink onto a die cut white circle. Using one of the coordinating patterned sheets from the Delightful Daisy Designer Series papers, the daisy stamp was inked in Black Archival ink and stamped and punched out with the daisy punch. This was cut in half and layered together and glued on to the lady to form the skirt. The rest of the Hat and Bodice was coloure stampin' write markers

We made our own patterned paper by randomly stamping a few of the stamps from the set in Daffodil delight, Calypso Coral and Old Olive  colours

A diorama card using a combination of stamps sets: Beautiful You, Colorful Seasons, High Tide, and Wetlands (retired)

For the background effect, we used the technique of inking some bubble wrap with  soft sky and spritzing with water before placing the white card over the top, creating a mottled effect.

Colourful seasons meets avant garden

A few weeks ago we used the Colourful Seasons Stamp and Die bundle to create the following card in our card classes

I searched for a palm tree stamp through all my Stampin' Up Stash and came up with one of the stamps from the retired Sale-a-bration set called Avant-Garden, which was perfect, and co-ordinated well with the die cut branch

I didn't add a sentiment to the front as it could be used for a variety of occasions such as thinking of you or happy retirement !

Just a reminder the Clearance Rack has been updated this week with up to 60% off selected products. Click HERE to have a look at the bargains and get them while they last!

Daisy Delight Flower Bouquet and Sampler

I ran an all day class for a group of ladies on Saturday using the Daisy Delight and Colourful Seasons Bundles. We each created this fabulous sampler and bouquet of flowers in a decorated vase

It was quite a fun and relaxing class with lots of humour and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their crafty day

This sampler was inspired by one designed by Lynn Streifert.  You can see her original here

There was a choice of creating either daisies or gerberas

Both of these flower projects are stunning and are very easily achieved with the Daisy Delight Bundle which I am pleased is now back in stock and available to order through my ONLINE SHOP.

Embossing Paste Technique Class with tranquil tulips

We made this beautiful card a couple of weeks ago in the classes using the Hostess set Tranquil Tulips and the new embossing paste.

I am loving the Embossing Paste... some of you may have seen this before, and know it as "texture paste"... but its a similar product. When you open your tub of paste, you will notice that the paste is very light and fluffy.  It's quick drying and easy to use.

There are lots of different ways to use it, and I'm still finding new things to do with it!
If you'd like to explore some of these ways I am running a technique class
on

 Saturday 12th August

  at

 2pm

The price of the class is £25 and includes:

1 tub of embossing paste
1 pack of stencils
1 pack of palette knives

This is really different  to my other classes and we will be learning a terrific new technique It is so amazing and can be really really customized. We will gather for a couple of hours as we practice with this new amazing product that will really change the way your cards look, it is so unique and you will love it!

Please contact me as soon as possible to reserve your seat as places are limited and I will need to order the supplies
